Despite threats of an impending recession, job opportunities across the UK actually increased in January, reversing December’s decline and showing a 9 percent rise on the same period last year. The Reed Job Index, which examines trends from more than 8,000 recruiters, noted a rise in demand for workers in the marketing and PR, retail, sales, charity and media sectors. Regionally, the north east and east midlands saw the biggest job growth last month.
